Amie’s first experience with yoga was when her mother introduced her to it when she was a child. After years of eye rolling at the very thought of yoga she then experienced her first power class in 2008…she was hooked at Chaturanga. With a background in competitive sports, Amie was always searching for a way to feel challenged, stretched and invigorated. She rediscovered yoga and a void that had once been missing from her life was instantly filled. Yoga has changed her life on and off the mat and created a passion and practice she wants to share with everyone she meets. Anyone who practices with Amie will feel as if they have been picked up and wrung out, eliminating all barriers to self realization. There is quite a bit of laughter in her classes which embodies the idea that life is not so serious and we are all in this together. Amie graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. in Physical Education and a minor in Athletic Administration. She completed her 200 hour yoga certification with high honors under Dr. Paul Jerard, E-RYT 500. When off the mat, Amie works full time as a Human Resource Manager. She also enjoys running, raising her children, and tending to her small hobby farm filled with chickens, mini goats and mini pigs with her husband Robert.
